   Now Available: Economic & Redevelopment Strategies for Kings Beach and Tahoe City These pages were developed to offer Tahoe residents and visitors a clearinghouse of information about the services that Placer County offers at Lake Tahoe. They also offer other useful and interesting information about the region, including links to other Lake Tahoe government agencies and organizations that provide assistance to visitors, businesses, or work to preserve the environment.
 
The internationally-recognized waters of Lake Tahoe and the renowned resort communities that dot its shoreline are a source of pride for Placer County. The stunning vistas, year-round recreational activities and clear blue water of Lake Tahoe draw visitors from around the globe. The northwest quarter of the lake is located in Placer County. The population in this corner of the Tahoe region is roughly 10,000 full time residents. Thousands more call Lake Tahoe their second home and hundreds of thousands visit each year.
