IT Awards
Each year the Center for Digital Government (Center), a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government, and the National Association of Counties (NACo) invite all counties in the U.S.to participate in a Digital Counties Survey.

The 2006 Digital Counties Survey asked county officials questions about online service delivery, infrastructure, architecture, and governance models.  In recognition of their hard work and innovation, awards were given to the top ten counties in each of four groups based on county population.

For counties of 250,000-499,999 in population, PlacerCountyplaced 9th in the nation.

The County has recently updated the look and feel of its web site, making information easier to find.  In addition, we’ve added a content management system that simplifies the process that departments use to update their web pages.  Over the coming months, additional website functions will be implemented that will give our citizens even easier ways to find out information and to utilize County services 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.
