Office of Assessor News Release
BUSINESS PROPERTY MAILING
Placer County Assessor Bruce Dear announced that the Assessor Department will be mailing Business Property Statement forms to approximately 7,000 business property owners in the next few days. Every year in January, most businesses in the county receive forms from the Assessor to file their business property information. Business Personal Property is assessed annually at its full market value as of the lien date (January 1). The Assessor needs information such as business ownership, type of business, amount of property and business location. Any property owner who has $100,000 or more of taxable business personal property is required to file a property statement. The property statement should be completed in its entirety, signed, and returned to the Assessor by April 1. Separate filings are required for each business location. Business Property Statements are confidential documents and are not open to public inspection. Customer Service representatives are available to answer questions. Please contact the Assessor's office at (530) 889-4300.
