HISTORICAL AIRCRAFT - PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE FILING REQUIREMENT
Notice to Historic Aircraft Owners Filing for an Exemption - The Historic Aircraft Exemption filing requirements have been amended based on Senate Bill 1059, chaptered last year. The amendment to Revenue and Taxation Code 220.5 establishes that a Certificate of Attendance from an aircraft display event coordinator shall be attached to each application for a Historic Aircraft Exemption. This requirement will be effective for applications filed for the January 1, 2005, lien date. For recording 2004 display events, you can obtain a Certificate of Attendance form by contacting the Placer County Assessor's Office at (530) 889-4300 or write to the Assessor Department, 2980 Richardson Drive, Auburn, CA 95603. You must attach an attendance certificate from each display event to apply and qualify for exemption next assessment year.
All owners of aircraft previously qualifying for the historical aircraft exemption have also been mailed a copy of the new Certificate of Attendance form.
