PLACER COUNTY ASSESSOR PARTICIPATES IN THE CALIFORNIA ASSESSORS' ASSOCIATION STANDARD DATA RECORD PROJECT


On March 8, 2005, Placer County Assessor, Bruce Dear, received Board of Supervisors approval to participate in the California Assessors' Association sponsored Standard Data Record (SDR) project.

The SDR project will enable participating businesses to file Business Property Statements (BPS) electronically with all County participants. Electronic filing will eliminate the need for businesses to file multiple paper statements with each Assessor's office.

This voluntary, new system significantly improves the reporting and processing of business property assessment information. The improved data exchange will reduce the handling of paper documents, minimize errors, and create greater efficiency for participating
businesses and for Assessor staff.
