Emergency Preparation for Animal Owners

You may have pets or livestock you consider members of your family. Remember to plan for their needs during an emergency. Like you, they will need food and water. They may also need medications and will have sanitation needs. Talk with your veterinarian to learn more about protecting your pets or livestock during an emergency.

During some emergencies there may be shelters established for animals, as well as for people. Be sure to listen to your local radio station during an emergency to learn if the county has set up an emergency animal shelter.
