Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System For Scheduling Inspections:

As of May 18, 2009 the IVR (Interactive Voice Response System) has been in operation. The IVR system is an automated voice response system used via a touch tone phone to schedule your construction inspections. With the introduction of the IVR system you will be using your touch-tone phone to schedule inspections, along with other available functions to serve you better.  For best results, you may want to use a land-line for scheduling inspections as cell phones are subject to signal loss and may not schedule the inspection.  After scheduling your inspection do not hang-up, wait for your confirmation number at the end.  A confirmation number must be received in order for the inspection to have been scheduled.  

Time line for inspection scheduling and cancellation:

Scheduling an inspection: An inspection can be scheduled up to 4:00 PM today for an inspection tomorrow, or up to 5 days in advance.
Canceling an inspection: An inspection scheduled for tomorrow can be canceled up to 11:59 PM today.

Housing or Code Enforcement Inspections - Call (530) 745-3050 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday



Structural Observation is required on all residential structures 5,000 Sq. Ft. or more per CBC Chapter 17. The Architect or Engineer of record performing the Structural Observation is to provide, in addition to the reports required by CBC Chapter 17, a final written report that will be retained as part of the permanent Building Permit file. The final report must certify that the entire structural system complies with the approved plans and designers specifications. The wet-stamped final report will be required prior to the frame inspection by the Building Division stating that the foundation construction and the lateral shear resisting system is approved without any exceptions.
