Negative Declarations

A Negative Declaration is a written statement briefly describing reasons that a proposed project would not have a significant or potentially significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR). In most cases, mitigation measures are required to reduce potentially significant environmental impacts to a less-than-significant level. While the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires Negative Declarations to be posted for a period of 30 days, the County will keep these documents on the web for 60 days after they have been approved. The documents are available as Portable Document Format (PDF) files.
