AUBURN RAVINE FISH PASSAGE RESTORATION PROJECT

Placer County contains habitat and water quality conditions that are ideal for spawning fish. To assist fish in reaching the upper portions of Auburn Ravine, a fish passage improvement project was initiated in the City of Lincoln. The main stem of Auburn Ravine originates in the foothills north of the City of Auburn, flows westward through the City of Lincoln, drains into the Cross Canal in Sutter County and later the Sacramento River.

HIDDEN FALLS REGIONAL PARK EXPANSION UNDERWAY

Placer County is expanding the popular Hidden Falls Regional Park in the Garden Bar area north of the City of Lincoln. The current 236-acre park that opened in 2006 with seven miles of trails will grow by 961 acres and 18 miles of trails after the work is completed this year.

A grand opening of the entire 1200-acre park is expected in late 2012. Placer County's long-term vision for Hidden Falls is in time to become the centerpiece of over 6500 acres of connected and preserved lands in three watersheds in Placer and Nevada Counties, much of which will be accessible by the public.
