Negative Declaration

A Negative Declaration is a written statement briefly describing reasons that a proposed project will not have a significant or potentially significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR). In most cases, mitigation measures are required to reduce potentially significant environmental impacts to a less-than-significant level. While the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires Negative Declarations to be posted for a period of 30 days for public review, the County will keep these documents on this web page for 60 days after they have been adopted.
