What is Tahoe CDRA?
The Community Development Resource Agency (CDRA) is the agency which combines many Placer County land development functions. It includes the Planning, Building, and Engineering & Surveying Departments, as well as Environmental Coordination Services. Planning, Building & Engineering have offices in Tahoe City, along with CDRA's Tahoe Land Use Manager, Allen Breuch (appointed in June 2007).
The Tahoe Land Use Manager is responsible for coordinating interaction between the County's development departments and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), the multi-jurisdictional agency that controls all development in the Tahoe Basin. The position is also responsible for bringing consistency to the review of specific projects and the entire development process in the Tahoe Basin. Allen Breuch will also continue to be involved with implementation of TRPA's Pathways 2007 program. This program is a collaborative planning process to establish a plan for protecting the Tahoe environment for the next 20 years.
CDRA's charter is to improve the review process for development projects proposed in unincorporated areas. The County goal is to continue improving customer service by providing more centralized leadership, consistency, and coordination in the review process.
