2013 Increase for SMD 1 - North Auburn, Christian Valley,
Winchester, and Bowman
On May 7, 2013, a public hearing will be held by the Board of
Supervisors (BOS) to consider an increase in the sewer user fee
increase charged for Sewer Maintenance District 1 (SMD 1).
On or about March 21, 2013, approximately 5,000 letters were
mailed to all affected customers regarding the public hearing and
the proposed fee increase.

2013 Increase for CSA 28, Zone 24 - Applegate
On May 7, 2013, a public hearing will be held by the Board of
Supervisors (BOS) to consider an increase in the sewer user fee
increase charged for County Service Area 28, Zone 24 (Applegate
CSA) which applies to Applegate sewer customers.
The sewage treatment ponds in Applegate will be decommissioned
in the spring of 2013 and sewage will be conveyed to the Sewer
Maintenance District 1 (SMD 1) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
via a newly constructed pump station and pipeline. The SMD 1 WWTP
will be decommissioned in the fall of 2015 as a result of the City
of Lincoln’s Mid-Western Placer Regional Sewer project. Sewer
user fees are proposed to increase for both SMD 1 and CSA 24 as a
result of the Regional Sewer project.
On or about March 21, 2013, approximately 30 letters were mailed
to all affected customers regarding the public hearing and the
proposed fee increase.

Sewer user fees have been unchanged since 2009, when the Board of
Supervisors (BOS) approved rate increases for the following Sewer
Maintenance Districts (SMDs) and County Service Areas (CSAs):
SMD 1 (North Auburn, Christian Valley, Winchester, and Bowman
areas)

Supervisors and the proposed sewer user fee increase was approved
for the following sewer maintenance districts (SMDs) and County
service areas (CSAs) managed by Placer County, including a proposed
water user fee increase for the Sheridan area:
