6 Great Museums!

Our museums are staffed by local volunteers, who help bring the rich history of this region to life.
Click on the photos below for a more in-depth view of each museum, their hours, and directions.
The Placer County Museum is our flagship. It takes up the bottom floor of Auburn's beautiful historic courthouse. Exterior photo of The Beautiful Bernhard Museum Complex which features a house museum, carriage barn, winery, wine processing buliding, and much more. Exterior photo of the Gold Country Museum, home of the awesome new hydraulic mining exhibit. Come check it out.

Exterior photo of the Griffith Quarry Museum. In addition to a great museum about granite, there's a real live quarry on the grounds you can walk around. Tasteful exterior photo of the Forest Hill Divide Museum. The Golden Drift Museum is nestled in the heart of down town Dutch Flat. It's only open a couple months out of the year so be sure and pay attention to the schedule on the next page.
