Insurance Requirements
Beginning January 1, 2008, Placer County will require parties reserving the group campgrounds at Bear River Park to provide the County with a certificate of insurance naming Placer County as an "additional insured". The certificate shall be a minimum of $1,000,000.00 liability. The certificate can either be obtained through the event holder's insurance carrier, or through the Placer County Risk Management Department (530) 886-2601.
Placer County also requires that the certificate is endorsed. An additional insured endorsement is a separate page attached to the certificate referencing the language below. Your insurance carrier may charge an additional fee for the "Additional insured Endorsement". Examples of ISO Endorsements that are acceptable to the County are: Insurance Services Office (ISO) Form No. CG 20 09 11 85 and CG 20 10 11 85. Insurance certificates must be acceptable to Placer County.
In order to confirm your reservation, the Placer County Parks Division must have a signed original copy of the insurance certificate. Your requested dates will be held for 30 days. If after 30 days we have not received proof of insurance, we will remove your request from the park calendar and make it available to other users.
Each general liability policy shall be endorsed with the following specific language:
"The County of Placer, its officers, agents, and employees, is named as additional insured for all liability arising out of the operations by or on behalf of the named insured in the performance of this Agreement."
"The insurance provided is primary coverage of the County of Placer with respect to any insurance or self-insurance programs maintained by the County, and no insurance held or owned by the County shall be called upon to contribute to a loss."
PLEASE INCLUDE THE LOCATION AND DATE OF EVENT ON THE CERTIFICATE
Cleaning / Security Deposit: A cleaning / security deposit of $200.00 is required for each reservation made for the Bear River Group Campground. This deposit will serve as security to insure the campground is left clean and that no damage was done to the facilities. The campground will be inspected after your stay and the deposit amount is subject to increase if it is determined that damage or clean-up costs exceed $200.00. If it is determined that the campsite was left clean and undamaged, your deposit will be returned to you the month after your reservation date.
