Civil Service Commissioners

The Civil Service Commission is composed of five members, each appointed by the Board of Supervisors to serve a four-year term. No member may be a Supervisor, officer or employee of the County. Any vacancy on the Commission is filled by a majority vote of the Board of Supervisors for a full four-year term beginning on the date of appointment. The Board of Supervisors may remove a member of the Commission for cause during his or her term of office by a majority vote. The Board must state in writing the reason for such removal and allow the Commissioner the opportunity for a public hearing.

Members of the Civil Service Commission receive $100 per meeting attended and are reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incidental to the proper execution of their duties and responsibilities, including mileage.
