The Placer County Probation Department Alternative Sentencing Programs provide offenders the opportunity to complete a portion of their court ordered disciplinary sentence on an appropriate program rather than serving their sentence in custody. Alternative Sentencing applicants report directly to the Roseville Probation Office to apply for our programs. The Intake Probation Officer will review the case to determine program eligability and place the offender on appropriate program. All Alternative Sentencing participants must agree to the program rules and regulations and pay the daily program fees. The Alternative Sentencing Programs are partially funded through the Indian Gaming Special Distribution Fund which is supported by the Thunder Valley Casino.

Adult Work Release

Offenders participating on the program are required to work two days per week at one of the approved worksites. Participants receive one day of custody credit for every 8-10 hours worked.

Electronic Monitoring

Offenders participating on the Electronic Monitoring Program serve their sentence confined to their home. Participants are monitored using a GPS tracking device and receive intensive supervision by a Probation Officer.

Drug Court

The Adult Drug Court Program provides intensive treatment services which includes up to one year of drug or alcohol treatment services, outpatient and/or residential programs, with case management closely monitored by Probation, Health and Human Services, and the court. Drug Court participants are required to complete the one-year program at which time their court ordered sentence is satisfied.
