The Communications Division provides radio dispatching services for Sheriff, Fire, Paramedics, Animal Control, and County Roads from dispatch center in Auburn. Yearly, dispatchers receive nearly 90,000 requests for assistance from the public through an enhanced 9-1-1 telephone system that instantly provides the dispatchers with telephone number and address of the calling party. The centers are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All Communications personnel are trained in Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols wherein the dispatcher can give life-saving emergency medical instructions over the telephone prior to the arrival of the first responders.
