The Investigations Division is staffed by approximately 30 Detectives, supervisors and personnel where crimes against persons, youth services, property crimes, and narcotics enforcement occur.
Crimes Against Persons
Includes the investigations of robbery, homicide, sexual assault, general sex crimes and missing person cases.
High Tech Crimes
Our High-Tech Crimes Division is a part of the Sacramento Valley High Tech Crimes Task Force. Their responsibilities include the investigation of computer crimes, computer/component theft, telecommunications fraud, and other cases that require special training and technical experience.
The Juvenile officers handle juvenile offender case investigations and the First Offender, Juvenile Diversion Program. They also work as liaisons with the School Districts and provide youth-related substance abuse prevention education (D.A.R.E.).
Includes investigation of fraud, burglary, theft, and pro-active of crimes-in-progress.
Narcotics Officers are assigned to a task force. The Special Investigations Unit in Western Placer County is based out of Auburn and participates in regional narcotics investigations. At Lake Tahoe, Detectives from the North Tahoe Station investigate and control narcotics activities.
