ALERT Flood Control Warning System

Realizing that the adverse effects of flooding can be reduced through advance planning and monitoring, the District, it’s member agencies and the Placer County Office of Emergency Services (OES) work in cooperation to provide critical stream stage and precipitation data to emergency responders and the public prior to and during flooding events. The District’s task is to collect hydrologic data from as many sources as available and provide technical support to OES and our member agencies prior to and during actual flooding events. The District owns and operates a network of 28 stream and precipitation ALERT gages on creeks throughout western Placer County. Other gage data sources include networks of gages operated by the City of Roseville and Sacramento County, as well as data from the National Weather Service and the California Data Exchange Center (CDEC). The District maintains a map of all local gages in the western portion of the County which can be accessed here (provide link). The public may request historical hydrologic data by contacting us directly at 530-745-7510.
