The I-5 Boat Section project began on May 30. As you might expect, this project will have impacts on traffic and our Placer Commuter Express Service.
Our P & 5th Street commuter bus stop will be moved around the corner to 5th & P during the week of July 21-25, 2008 because of the northbound lane closures in the Fix I-5 project. We will inform you if the schedule changes.
The Southbound J Street ramp will remain open throughout the project allowing access to the PCE route in downtown.
We don’t know exactly what the traffic conditions will be during the project. Both Caltrans and the City of Sacramento are taking extra measures to make traffic move as smoothly as possible. We will be monitoring the project and making adjustments as we need to.
Please be aware that Placer County Transit fixed route bus service makes hourly connections with Light Rail at Watt/I-80. During the construction, Placer County Transit will accept Placer Commuter Express monthly passes and tickets as fare on our fixed route between Auburn and Light Rail, which includes stops at Louis Lane and Orlando in Roseville, the Galleria shopping mall and Sierra College in Rocklin. Share this with your co-workers and others you know who are looking for an alternative way to get to work during the project.
