NOTICE OF EXPANDED SERVICE HOURS - HWY 89 TRUCKEE ROUTE On Jan. 8, 2008, the Placer County Board of Supervisors approved increasing service on the Hwy. 89 route between Tahoe City and Truckee from every 2 hours to hourly in the spring and fall. This makes the hourly service, previously only offered in the winter and summer, available year 'round. See the Spring 2008 Bus Schedule links above right. |
|
Schedules run 7 days a week from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, except Christmas Day. TART operates along 30 miles of Lake Tahoe shoreline and includes a shuttle between Tahoe City and Truckee via Hwy. 89. In the winter, TART also operates along Hwy. 267 between Truckee and Crystal Bay. Bike racks are available in the summer. TART connects with Truckee Transit, Greyhound & Amtrak at the Truckee Depot. Buses stop at TART signs on the side of the road in direction of travel. Schedules subject to delays due to unforeseen circumstances. No smoking, eating, drinking, or pets. Riding Tips First, figure out where you are and where you want to go on the route map. Check the time schedule listed or call our office for assistance. Wait at a TART designated bus stop. Stops are clearly marked with signs. Be to your stop a few minutes before the bus is scheduled to leave. Pay your fare when boarding. Deposit cash, coins, or bus passes in the electronic farebox. You need exact change. Drivers cannot make change. Signal the driver to stop when you are one or two blocks from your destination. To signal a stop, push the yellow tape between the windows or pull the cord located above the windows. If you are unfamiliar with the area, ask the driver for assistance. Remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop. In Tahoe City, ask the driver for a transfer if you need to catch another bus to get to your destination. Not all stops are listed. Call TART for a complete listing.
