Placer County Teen Age Pregnant and Parenting Program (TAPP)

The TAPP program promotes healthy births and supports successful parenting through the Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP). AFLP is a comprehensive and voluntary home visiting and case management program for pregnant or parenting teens (mothers and fathers). Entry into the program must be before age 19. The goal of the AFLP program is to promote the health and well-being of the pregnant and parenting teen, his or her children, and their families, as well as to encourage teens to finish school, and to prevent repeat unplanned pregnancies. Case managers provide assistance with education regarding pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, breast feeding, and child health; parenting skills; support with goals for completion of high school education and employment; Medi-Cal, WIC, counseling and substance abuse prevention services; and referral to local doctors/clinics, and other agencies as needed.
