Recreational Water Illness (RWI)

The week of May 19th - 25th marks the annual Recreational Water Illness (RWI) Prevention Week.  This seasonal event  is traditionally the start of the summer swim season.  However, it is important to note that this page is a great resource for both the public and pool operators on a year-round basis.

RWI Health Promotion Tool Kit - A .pdf version of the Health Promotion Tool Kit in which the CDC gives various resources for Recreational Water Illness Prevention.  A huge list and resources and information for The Media, Community Leaders, Aquatic Facility Operators, Healthcare Providors, and Swimmers.
