Live animals are not allowed inside food facilities. However, under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) trained service animals are. See the Dept. of Justice’s informational handout on service animals for more information.

Placer County has developed a new policy that allows pet dogs on outdoor patios at food facilities. See the “Guidelines for the Allowance of Pet Dogs in Outdoor Dining Areas” and it’s corresponding “Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the Allowance of Pet Dogs in Outdoor Dining areas”.
