Plan Checks

The Consumer Protection Team of Environmental Health is charged with the approval of Food Facility Plans.  A plan check is performed ANY time a Food Facility either remodels or opens for the first time.

To initiate the process submit the following:

1.  Plan Check Application Form

    - Sets of Plans; Tahoe (2) sets, rest of Placer County (1) set

2.  Fee Disclosure Form

3.  Fee (Check or Money Order by Mail, OR Check, Money Order, Credit Card, Cash at the Front Counter) based on the proposed facility description as provided on the Plan Check Application Form

Please contact us if you have questions while filling out the form, or are not sure of what type of facility your project would be considered.

/upload/hhs/hhs environmental health/images/plans.bmp Plans will be stamped upon receipt and assigned to a District Specialist for review.  The Specialist will send comments to the person as listed on the Plan Check Application Form as the contact person.  It is important to provide accurate information on this part of the Plan Check Application Form.  Information that is incomplete or illegible may hamper the project review and approval process.

There may be instances where the Plan Check Fee submitted is incorrect.  It is advisable to give us a call to track your project and to see if all of the required items are accounted for.  Missing items will also slow the Food Facility Plan Check review and approval process.

Once your project has been submitted, and you have been assigned a Specialist, please notify us with any questions or comments.  The best time to reach your project's District Specialist is between 8-9 a.m. and 4-5 p.m.  These are considered their "office hours", on each end of their field inspection day.
