Temporary Events

The Environmental Health Department is responsible for the review of all temporary food facility applications and the issuance of permits. Most importantly, we ensure the protection of the public, from food borne illnesses by providing vital information on the operation of a safe temporary food facility (TFF).

According to California Conference of Directors of Environmental Health (CCDEH) guidelines document, a TFF event can vary from a few low-risk facilities and consumers, to a large number of potentially hazardous food preparation facilities with thousands of consumers. Community events will often include many classifications of food facilities, in addition to TFFs, such as separately permitted mobile food preparation units. The increasing numbers and complexity of TFF events proves a challenge for the safe handling and serving of food to the public.

** PLEASE NOTE: The Temporary Event Coordinator Class discount will NOT be offered this year. The class and the discount have been discontinued.
