Mosquitoes and Mosquito Abatement

The Placer Mosquito Abatement District was created by the Board of Supervisors several years ago, but election attempts to raise funding were unsuccessful until 1998-2000 timeframe. In 1998, the City of Lincoln passed a measure funding mosquito abatement services within the city limits. In the summer of 2000, a mail-in ballot election provided funds to set up the Placer Mosquito Abatement District.
