Land Use
The Land Use and Water Resources Section of Environmental Health performs a variety of activities to protect public health and the environment.
These activities can vary from a proposal for a major subdivision, boundary line adjustment or minor land division, to proposals for the construction of residential water wells, and on-site septic systems.
The Land Use and Water Resources Team in Environmental Health coordinates closely with many of the other divisions and offices within Placer County. From analyzing a project proposal with respect to the General Plan, Community Plan, On-site Sewage Ordinace, and Water Well Ordinance, our office works with The Building Department, Planning Department, Public Works Department, and Community Development Resources Agency (CDRA).
With respect to review of submitted projects, we also provide input and guidance to the Placer County Planning Commission and the Zoning Administrator at scheduled public hearings.
The Land Use and Water Resources Team also responds to citizens complaints regarding wastewater and drinking water issues. We investigate these complaints and remain committed to providing a service to the public as well as appropriate enforcement actions.
The Underground Injection Control grant program summary report is available. The Summary Report may be found here.
Questions on a parcel ?
Please have the Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) ready. (Example of APN) This is the most effective means by which we retrieve information from our files. If you do not have the APN, a physical address of the parcel will work also. The Placer County Assessor's Office may also find information such as APN, by the owner's name.
