Solid Waste FAQ

Q:  Where can I take my trash ?

A:  Most likely you will want to go to a facility close to your home.  However, you are encouraged to call ahead regarding operating hours and wastes the facility will receive.  Below please find a list of disposal facilities open to the public in PlacerCounty, their location and telephone number:

Auburn area
Auburn Placer Disposal Service Transfer Station
12305 Shale Ridge Road, Auburn  (530) 885-3735

Foresthill area
Foresthill Transfer Station
End of Patent Road, Foresthill  (530) 885-3735
(This facility is only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday)

Meadow Vista area
Meadow Vista Transfer Station

(This facility is only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday)

Roseville – Lincoln area
Western Placer Waste Management Authority Materials Recovery Facility and Western Regional Sanitary Landfill, located near the intersection of Athens Avenue and Fiddyment Road between Roseville and Lincoln, share a common scale house accessed off Athens Avenue.  Telephone (916) 543-3960.

Tahoe area
Eastern Regional Materials Recovery Facility

            A: 
The following site has information on what is allowed into Solid Waste Facilities, and locations for accepting hazardous items.



Q:  What do I do with Syringes or other "sharps" waste ?
    
            A: 
Keep Syringes and "sharps" out of normal disposal (garbage cans), and take them to these locations.
