Vehicle Abatement Program
The Division's Tahoe Regional Office of Placer County Environmental Health, in conjunction with other county departments such as the Sheriff's Department, enforces the Abandoned Vehicle Program. This program is responsible for the removal of abandoned and inoperable vehicles from the Tahoe region.
The accumulation on private and public property of abandoned or inoperative vehicles, adversely affects public health and safety by promoting blight and deterioration of neighborhoods, inviting plundering, creating fire hazards, constituting an attractive nuisance, creating a hazard to the health and safety of minors, and providing harborage for rodents and insects.
