Vehicle Abatement Program
The Division's Tahoe Regional Office of Placer County Environmental Health, in conjunction with other county departments such as the Sheriff's Department, enforces the Abandoned Vehicle Program. This program is responsible for the removal of abandoned and inoperable vehicles from the Tahoe region.
The accumulation on private and public property of abandoned vehicles adversely affects public health and safety by promoting blight and deterioration of neighborhoods. It could also invite plundering, fire hazards, and hazards to the health and safety of minors. Homes for rodents and insects are also problematic.
