Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project
|
Placer County prepared, and the Board of Supervisors approved, the final environmental document for the Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project. The environmental document was prepared in conjunction with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The County Board of Supervisors approved the three-lane hybrid alternative for the project.
Beginning in the Fall of 2010, Placer County began working with our consultant design team to advance and finalize the design of the project. The project consists of three phases. Phase I focuses on the installation of neighborhood traffic calming improvements; Phase II consists of off-highway improvements such as sidewalks, parking, and water quality improvements; and Phase III which proposes three lanes with roundabouts, sidewalks, parking, water quality, landscape and streetscape amenities along North Lake Boulevard.
Construction of these phases is funding-dependent, but the County anticipates that Phase I will be constructed beginning in 2011 and completed during the 2012 season. Phase II is anticipated to be built in 2012, with Phase III project beginning in 2013 and completed in 2014.
The County has a project specific website which can be accessed at KingsBeachCore.info. This site provides all of our latest project information, public meeting dates, past public meeting materials and exhibits as well as location and directions to submit comments.
