Jail and Video Visitation
Auburn Jail Visitation Center is located on Atwood Rd. in Auburn.
South Placer Jail visitation center is located at 11801 Go For Broke Rd., Roseville.
South Placer Minimum Security visitation center is located at 11701 Go For Broke Rd., Roseville
1. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
2. Visitors must have one of the following valid identifications:
- Driver’s License with photo.
- Military I.D. with photo.
- Passport with photo.
- Immigration Card.
- California Identification Card with photo.
3. You cannot visit an inmate if any one of the following apply:
- You were in our custody within the past 60 days, excluding those booked and released on the same day.
- You have been convicted of a felony and served time in state prison. It is a felony to be on jail grounds without written consent from the commander (Penal Code 4571).
- You have a No Contact Restraining Order involving the inmate you wish to visit.
ATTENTION: All visitors must pass through a walk through metal detector. Any visitor who exercises his or her option to refuse to comply with the required search procedures shall not be permitted to enter a correctional facility. Each visitor shall remove all metal items from clothing prior to passing through metal detector. This includes, but is not limited to, jewelry (e.g., watches, chains, medals, etc.) which is normally concealed and may register an alarm should be removed by visitor prior to passing through metal detector.
Dress Code for the Auburn and South Placer Jail: All visitors, male or female, adult and children must comply with the dress code guidelines outlined below. Failure to comply with the dress code may result in the visitor being turned away.
Shoes - must be worn (Flip-flops are not permitted)
Shorts - must be mid-thigh in length
Skirts - must be mid-thigh in length or longer
No bare midriff
No low-cut shirts
No tank tops, spaghetti straps, halter tops, tube tops, etc. (all shirts must have sleeves)
No sheer fabric or exposed undergarments
Clothing with logos that inherently promote violence, hate, drug use, profanity, sex acts or gangs is not allowed
No bathing suits
No jeans with holes
No gang related attire
No hats, bandanas, beanies, etc. (nothing to be worn on the head)
**Loud, boisterous and rude language will not be tolerated during the visit**
NO CELLS PHONES, COMPUTERS, TABLETS, SMARTPHONES ALLOWED IN ANY VISITING AREA
- Personal visiting phones are monitored and recorded
- Visitors may be subject to search by sheriff's personnel of their persons and immediate property while on the premises of the facility at any time
- Refusal to submit to search will prohibit or terminate visiting privileges

Auburn Main Jail:
For Auburn Main Jail visiting times, visit the In-Custody Report or call (530) 745-8500. Visitors must be checked in at the Auburn Visitation Center 35-45 minutes before the visitation session time.
South Placer Jail:
For South Placer Jail visiting times, visit the In-Custody Report or call (916) 409-8100. All visitors at the South Placer Jail must register and schedule their onsite visit through the video visitation vendor 12 hours in advance. For remote visits, you must register and schedule 4 hours in advance. This is for any inmate housed at the South Placer Jail and does not include inmates housed at the Minimum Security facility. See below for instructions on how to visit a minimum security inmate. After the video visit is scheduled, visitors must be checked in at the South Placer Visitation Center 30 minutes before the visitation session time. Visitors at all facilities Auburn or South Placer Main Jail & Minimum Security are limited to:
Auburn Jail Visitors need to be checked in 35-45 minutes PRIOR to the visitation session time.
South Placer Jail Visitors need to be checked in no less than 30 minutes and no earlier than 45 minutes PRIOR to the visitation session time.
Visitors may expedite the check-in process by pre-registering as a visitor for face-to-face visits only.
The 30 minute visitation time will be split between the adult visitors; only one visitor permitted at the visiting station at a time.
Visitors for inmates in any housing area at the South Placer Jail can select the remote video visitation option for a charge of $9.99 for 30 minutes. This visit is in addition to the two visitations sessions mentioned above. **Charges will apply**
For the remote visiting option, visitors must register and schedule their visits 4 hours in advance.
On-site video visitation sessions are free of charge. Visitors must schedule their visit 12 hours in advance and must travel to the South Placer Jail to conduct the visit from one of our Video Visiting terminals in the visiting lobby.

Court Appointed Experts
Professional visitors must have proper ID and be checked in 15 minutes before the end of the visiting session. Staff shall thoroughly search handbags, briefcases, and other containers. Inspection of handbags, briefcases, and other containers in the possession of an attorney or duly approved legal representative prior to an approved legal visit shall be limited to cursory examination for contraband. Written materials shall be inspected, as unobtrusively as possible, to verify that the materials do not contain contraband.
Attorney’s or legal assistants who possess laptops or tablets shall be advised by the check in officer that the use of cellular service or open Wi-Fi is strictly prohibited.
