What is the North Lake TahoeRedevelopment Program?

North Lake Tahoe is Placer County Redevelopment Agency’s most active Redevelopment Project Area.  Redevelopment is a State authorized program which allows local municipalities to use additional funds to carry out a variety of projects and programs to improve deteriorated or economically distressed areas.  In 1996, the Board of Supervisors approved the North Lake Tahoe Redevelopment Plan.  Since then the Redevelopment Agency has assisted or directly managed numerous improvement projects in TahoeCityKings Beach/Tahoe Vista and the surrounding communities.  Agency projects upgrade substandard infrastructure, improve streetscapes, create vibrant new public spaces, add free public parking, and assist the rehabilitation and new development of commercial, office and housing buildings and grounds.  The Agency’s overall revitalization strategy is included in its current Five Year Implementation Plan.  For more detailed information about our activities click on our links to projects, plans, news, and more.
