Placer County Conservation Plan (PCCP)
In June 2000, the Board of Supervisors directed staff to initiate the implementation of the Placer Legacy Program. As part of that direction, staff initiated the preparation of a Natural Community Conservation Plan and Habitat Conservation Plan to comply with the State and Federal Endangered Species Act, and an effort to programmatically comply with the Federal Clean Water Act related to wetlands. This effort, now referred to as the Placer County Conservation Plan (PCCP), is proceeding for the first phase of the PCCP covering Western Placer County.
The PCCP is intended to address the impacts associated primarily with unincorporated growth in west Placer and growth associated with the buildout of Lincoln's updated General Plan. Development in western Placer County will require the preservation of approximately 54,300 acres of land between now and 2050.
