Victim/Witness Assistance
The Placer County District Attorney's Victim Services Center is located within the District Attorney's Office. The Victim Services Center provides the following direct services to all victims and non-offending members of crime:
- Crisis Intervention
- Emergency Assistance Information and Referral: Shelter, food, clothing
- Resource Referral
- Direct/Follow-up Counseling
- Property Return Assistance
- Orientation to Criminal Justice System
- Court Escort/Court Support
- Case Status/Disposition
- Notification to Families & Friends
- Custody Release Notification to Victims
- Employer Notification/Intervention
- Creditor Intervention
- Restitution
- Funeral/Burial Assistance
- Crime Prevention Information
- Restraining Order Assistance (Information & Referral)
- Transportation Assistance
The Placer County District Attorney Victim Services Center includes a Joint Powers Unit that processes Crime Victims Claims for reimbursement of crime related to out of pocket expenses, to include:
- Medical/Dental
- Mental Health Counseling
- Wage/Income Loss
- Funeral/Burial
- Emergency Moving Expenses
In a continuous effort to provide seamless regional services to all victims of crime, the Placer County Victim Services Center Joint Powers Unit processes claims for victims of crime in Placer, Nevada, Sierra and Plumas Counties.
