Traylor Ranch Bird Sanctuary and Nature Reserve is available to reserve for specific uses only. Events at the Reserve shall be determined on a case by case basis as long as they do not conflict with the Deed Restrictions which require the Reserve be operated as a passive bird sanctuary and nature reserve.
SPECIAL RULES
BRINGING DOGS to the Reserve is prohibited by ordinance.
AMPLIFIED MUSIC is not allowed.
NO FIRES OR BARBECUES ARE ALLOWED AT TRAYLOR RANCH.
PARKING is limited at Traylor Ranch. Cars and pickups should park at the parking lot located off of English Colony Roadand vehicles with horse trailers should use the parking lot located off of Humphry Road.
The number of people who can use the Reserve is limited to small groups, so the natural resources are not negatively impacted.
People are not allowed to enter the Reserve with vehicles.
Scheduled groups are required to clean up after themselves. Traylor Ranch refuse capacity is designed for casual use only. All groups are required to carry out event-generated refuse. No event-generated refuse is to be left in the Reserve refuse containers.
No decorations or advertising may be hung or posted.
Guests are not to open any closed gates or close any open gates.
TRAYLOR RANCH BIRD SANCTUARY AND NATURE RESERVE
GROUP RESERVATION POLICIES
The Traylor Ranch Bird Sanctuary and Nature Reserve is to be used solely for passive recreational purposes such as nature study and interpretation, and trail uses.
In order to ensure that user groups utilize the Nature Reserve for its intended purposes, groups will need to make a reservation. The group fee is $50 in addition to the $5.00 Application Fee. To request authorization for your group to use the Reserve, please contact Placer County Parks Division at (530) 886-4901 to get a request form. Requests must be made NO LESS THAN THIRTY (30) working days prior to the anticipated event. Requests need to include the anticipated number of guests, and the uses you desire. The County will use the information you provide to determine if your group’s proposed use is appropriate.
TRAYLOR RANCH is a public Bird Sanctuary and Nature Reserve and cannot be reserved for any individuals or groups sole use. Therefore, be aware that other visitors may be in the Reserve during your use.
A completed application package, insurance certificate, and a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Form, must be received by the Department of Facility Services WITHIN TEN (10) WORKING DAYS OF THE INITIAL REQUEST.
COMMERCIAL USE of the Reserve is not permitted. If you plan to charge a fee you may not charge a fee to make a profit from your group’s use. You will need to provide additional information to the County to have your fee considered.
CERTIFICATE NAMING PLACER COUNTY
AS ADDITIONAL INSURED
Certificates of Insurance (MINIMUM OF $1,000,000 liability) may be required for park reservations depending on the scope of the event. The certificates can either be obtained through the event holder’s homeowner’s insurance, or through Placer County’s Risk Management Department (530) 886-2603. Placer Countymust have a signed original copy of the insurance certificate before the event can be scheduled on the calendar. Your insurance carrier may charge an additional fee for the “Additional Insured Endorsement”. ISO Endorsements that are acceptable to the County are: Insurance Services Office (ISO) Form No. CG 20 09 11 85 and CG 20 10 11 85.
Each general liability policy shall be endorsed with the following specific language:
“The County of Placer, its officers, agents, and employees, is named as additional insured for all liability arising out of the operations by or on behalf of the named insured in the performance of this Agreement.”
“The insurance provided is primary coverage of the County of Placerwith respect to any insurance or self-insurance programs maintained by the County, and no insurance held or owned by the County shall be called upon to contribute to a loss.”
