"Move Over America" is a national effort to make drivers aware of "Move Over" laws, which require motorists to "Move Over" and change lanes to give clearance to law enforcement officers on roadsides. Equally important is the action of creating attention in those States where there is no such law at present.

By helping to provide much needed equipment and training, not available through the county budget, the Sheriff's Council is trying to make a difference. The business and community leaders of the council have volunteered to work closely with law enforcement to help meet those needs through this non-profit organization.

| National Law Enforcement Officers - Memorial Fund |
|
|
|
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial was dedicated in 1991 by President George H.W. Bush.
It honors all of America's federal, state and local law enforcers. Inscribed on the Memorial's blue-gray marble walls are the names of more than 17,500 officers who have been killed in the line of duty, dating back to the first known death in 1792. |
