Who We are
In 1995, Placer County's Health, Welfare, and Community Services Departments were merged into one agency, the Department of Health and Human Services. This agency is organized into several inter-related operating systems employing nearly 950 trained professional and technical staff, primarily focused in the health and social services fields. Our services are available throughout the county, with offices in Auburn, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln and the North Lake Tahoe area. In many cases, services are offered on-site in other communities as well.
By placing people first, we provide a unified system of quality services to safeguard the health and well-being of people and animals in our communities. To realize our mission, we will strive to keep all children, adults, and families, healthy, at home, in school, at work, out of trouble, self-sufficient in keeping themselves safe, and to ensure that our animals are valued and cared for.
What Placer Residents can do to support our youth in providing safe and healthy environments for Placer youth.
- Be involved in the lives of youth, express compassion and caring for the many challenges they and their families face.
- Provide emotional support to the adult care givers that you are in contact with whether they are parents, grand parents or concerned neighbors as they in turn offer support to the youths in their lives.
- Consider getting involved in supporting one or more of the numerous community non-profit organizations providing services to the youth and families of Placer County such as:
