LAFCO Commission

COMMISSION PURPOSE: To review and approve or deny proposals for the formation, consolidation, or dissolution of cities or special districts; and to review and approve or deny proposals for the annexation to or detachment from cities or special districts. None of these proceedings may be initiated until approved by the Commission to develop and determine the sphere of influence for each local government agency.

COMMISSION COMPOSITION: Composed of seven (7) regular members serving four (4) year terms. Two (2) members of the Board of Supervisors with one (1) alternate Supervisor; two (2) members of City Council with one (1) alternate; and one (1) public member and alternate appointed by other six (6) members, two (2) special districts and one (1) alternate. COMMISSION MEETINGS: Second Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors' Chambers, 175 Fulweiler Ave., Auburn, CA or where otherwise posted and advertised.

COMPENSATION: $100.00 per diem (Ord. 411-B):  Commissioners shall receive compensation for their attendance at each meeting of the Commission, in addition to reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in attending such meetings and in performing the duties of office.
