Solicitation Period Ending for Land for Tahoe Government Center

Updated 5/24/06

Placer County is in the process of soliciting real estate sites on which to build its Tahoe Government Center. That solicitation period will end Friday, June 2, at 3 p.m. Property owners, or their representatives, are encouraged to contact the Placer County Department of Facility Services for the solicitation package and additional information.

Placer County continues to improve access to the services it offers at Lake Tahoe. Plans for a new government center are part of that effort and will provide the public with a single place for access to both general government and land use functions that are currently in different locations.

The government center will house Placer County representatives from the Executive Office, Public Information Office, Office of Emergency Services, Redevelopment Agency, Community Development Resource Agency (Planning, Building and Engineering Services), and Environmental Health. The County also wishes to include other, non-county departments and agencies whose proximity to Placer County services would enhance the delivery of public services.

The County estimates it will need a site or sites that could provide 2.2 acres for improvements including snow storage, storm water detention, landscaping and a minimum 1.5-acre permissible coverage area for building footprint and parking. The County will also consider smaller sites that can be combined to meet minimum areas.

For additional information of a copy of the solicitation package, contact:

Placer County Department of Facility Services 11476 C Avenue Auburn, California 95603 (530)-886-4970
