Supervisors To Meet in North Lake Tahoe

SQUAW VALLEY, CALIF.- The Placer CountyBoard of Supervisors will meet at its regularly scheduled Lake Tahoemeeting on July 24 and 25, 2006. The Supervisors meet in North Tahoethree times each year.

Items on Monday's agenda, beginning at 1:30 p.m., include:

  • An Update on the County Biomass Program: At the Direction of the Board, the County hired a Biomass Manager to oversee and coordinate PlacerCounty's efforts to determine the feasibility and options for removing flammable wood products from national forestlands and turning those products into economically sustainable forms of energy production or to other beneficial uses. The manager, Bruce Storey, will present the Board with an up date on project progress.
  • The CountyCapitalFacilities Plan: County staff will present the Board and updated Capital Facilities Financing Plan that includes updated construction costs and delivery dates for facilities identified as priorities over the next decade.

 

Items on Tuesday's agenda, beginning at 9 a.m., include:

  •  A presentation on the progress of the County's new website;
  • An agreement to fund the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association to conduct marketing efforts aimed at attracting visitors to Lake Tahoe. The proposed $3.7 million budget will use transient occupancy tax (TOT).
  • A resolution to allow the Public Works Director sign a construction management contract for repairs to slide damage on Foresthill Road.
  • A resolution to allow the Redevelopment Agency to purchase a land easement to provide access to the Tahoe City Marina public parking structure.

 

During the Tuesday meeting the Board of Supervisors will adjourn as and meet as the Placer County Redevelopment Agency Board and take up five additional items.
