HOME DEPOT WITHDRAWAL REQUEST TO BE CONSIDERED AUGUST 1

On April 27, 2006, a Conditional Use Permit, a Tentative Parcel Map and a final environmental impact report were unanimously approved by the Placer County Planning Commission for the Home Depot home improvement store project, proposed to be located on a portion of the County’s DeWitt Center in North Auburn.   The Friends of Placer County Communities (FPCC) filed an appeal of that action to the Placer County Board of Supervisors.

On July 18, 2006, FPCC filed a formal withdrawal of its appeal.  Under the County’s zoning ordinance, the Board of Supervisors must consent to a request to withdraw.   An item has been placed on the agenda of the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors being held on August 1, 2006, to request the Board consent to the withdrawal.  Staff will recommend that the Board accept the withdrawal, which will make the Planning Commission’s decision final.

The Board meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the CountyAdministrativeCenter, 175 Fulweiler Avenuein Auburn.  Specific information about the agenda will be available on Friday, July 28 and posted on the countyweb site(www.placer.ca.gov) by 5 p.m.
