Location Change For Tahoe Food Safety Class

Olympic Valley, Calif.-- The location has changed for Placer County Environmental Health's food sanitation certification class at North Lake Tahoe. The date and time remain the same.

The class will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., at 1750 Village East Road in Olympic Valley, at the Resort at Squaw Creek. Cost for the course is $85.

California law requires that each eating establishment in the state have an employee on staff who has obtained the food sanitation certification. Eating establishments are any business where food preparation takes place. A certification is valid for three years.

Space in the class is limited to 25 people, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will occur only upon receipt of both the registration form and the class fee. Once registered, students will be sent a study workbook and directions. The workbook will be used during the class. The session consists of six hours of instruction and a two-hour test.

Registration can be done at the Environmental Health office in Tahoe City, 565 West Lake Blvd., (530) 581-6240, or in the Auburn offices at 3091 County Center Dr., in the DewittCenter, (Corner of Bell and Richardson). Those interested in taking the class are encouraged to register early as this class is expected to fill. A waiting list for a later class will be established when the class fills. Four classes are typically offered in Auburneach year.
