Tahoe/Truckee Offices Closed Due To Snow

All non-essential Placer  Countygovernment offices in the Lake Tahoe and Truckee area will be closed on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 due to inclement weather. The National Weather Service is predicting significant snow and wind to the Sierra Nevada with continuous snowfall and whiteout conditions over the Lake Tahoe Basin and mountain pass areas. Public safety and snow removal operations will be working; however most other Placer Countyoffices in the Sierra Nevada will remain closed for the day. With travel expected to be treacherous throughout the day, residents are encouraged to avoid any unnecessary trips.
