County Tahoe/Truckee Offices Closed For Second Day

All non-essential Placer Countygovernment offices in the Lake Tahoe and Truckeearea will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 for a second straight day due to inclement weather. Significant snowfall totals over the past few days and high winds have caused multiple road closures and travel restrictions over the entire Sierra. The National Weather Service has forecast a snow advisory forecast through Wednesday.   

County public safety and snow-removal operations will be working; however most other Placer Countyoffices in the Sierra Nevadawill remain closed for the day. Those persons who have business with Placer County Tahoe and Truckeeoffices are advised to call ahead before traveling. Those who must travel are reminded to be prepared for snow-covered roads, whiteout conditions and other limited visibilities. Use caution while driving and allow ample time to arrive at destinations.
