Supervisor Rockholm Unveils District Website

Placer County Supervisor Rocky Rockholm launched a website recently to help the public stay informed on 1st District news.

“I hope people will check out my website, and return to it frequently to find out about what’s happening in my district and throughout the county,” Supervisor Rockholm said. “It contains information that will be particularly useful to constituents who want to learn more about county government, or get involved by attending meetings or becoming members of county advisory bodies.”

The website’s address is www.placer.ca.gov/Home/bos/district1.aspx.

The public also can get to Supervisor Rockholm’s site by going first to Placer County’s main website at www.placer.ca.gov, clicking on the “Board of Supervisors” icon near the top center of the county home page and clicking on the supervisor’s name when the main board page appears.

The website includes a biography of Supervisor Rockholm, a former Rosevillecouncilman and mayor who was elected last year to a four-year term as the 1st District representatives on the Board of Supervisors.

The 1st District includes part of the city of Rosevilleand the unincorporated area west of the city between Baseline Roadand the Placer-Sacramento county line.

The website has maps of the 1st District and the Dry Creek Community Plan.

It also features a District 1 events calendar with a link that allows the public to sign up to receive e-mail notices about meetings of advisory bodies such as the West Placer Municipal Advisory Council.

Commonly known as MACs, the county’s 13 advisory councils advise the Board of Supervisors on issues of public interest in unincorporated areas. They are charged with gathering public comment on a range of topics, including land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement and public health and safety.

The West Placer MAC normally meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings typically are held at Dry Creek Elementary School, 2955 PFE Roadin Roseville.

Supervisor Rockholm’s website includes a list of county advisory bodies that have 1st District representatives.

It also lists the many local and regional committees and other government organizations where Supervisor Rockholm represents the Board of Supervisors as a member or alternate.
