Farmers Markets Offering Locally Grown Produce

The Foothill Farmers’ Markets annual return to Auburn’s DeWitt Centeron Wednesday, June 13, 2007 will offer fresh picked vegetables and fruit, breads, condiments, and handmade soaps and crafts from farmers from Placer Countyand beyond. In all, there are 15 weekly farmers markets in and around the county.

The markets will be held in the following communities:

  • Auburn (3)
  • Colfax
  • Foresthill
  • Roseville (3)
  • Granite Bay
  • Rocklin
  • Lincoln
  • Kings Beach
  • Tahoe City
  • Homewood
  • Truckee

The Foothill Farmers’ Market Association’s mission is to promote the economic viability of small-scale farms by operating marketplaces that foster community spirit, educate the public and give consumers access to fresh, high quality agricultural products direct from the producer. Many of the markets will remain open into the fall. The variety of the available fare changes each week as different crops become ready for market.
