The Weather and the Donner Party
What images come to mind when you read the words “Donner Party”? Does the room suddenly feel a bit colder? Are you inspired to take just one more bite of your meal? The tragedy of the Donner Party has been told and retold many times. But do you really know the whole story?
Please join us on Saturday, April 12th at 1:00 in the Bernhard Museum Winery for the Placer County Museums Community Education Program: The Weather and the Donner Party. This program is presented by award winning author Mark McLaughlin. Mark has studied the weather history of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and his perspective reveals new insights on the tragedy. He has appeared on PBS, the History Channel, and the Weather Channel. Copies of his books will be for sale by cash or check after the presentation.
This program is FREE!
