Sand and Sandbag Locations; Emergency Public Information
Placer County has activated its phone lines that will be available to assist residents with storm-related information.
In all cases, people who are reporting an emergency should call 9-1-1.
In Auburn, the OES Public Information Line is 530-886-5310.
In North Lake Tahoe, the OES Public Information Line is 530-584-1590.
Residents are also encouraged to monitor local radio and television stations for updates, or seek information on the Placer County web site, www.placer.ca.gov (“news” or “emergency”).
As a precaution, sand and sandbags are available for residents in the following Placer County locations. Minor street flooding is likely to occur if there are heavy rains.

“Placer County has coordinated with the cities, other local and state agencies and the American Red Cross to be as prepared as possible, most of whom have additional staffing in place,” said Rui Cunha, Manager, Office of Emergency Services. “We have electronic monitoring equipment to watch the creeks in our area, and while we don’t expect problems, it’s always wise to be vigilant.
“We encourage our residents to take personal preparedness steps such as locating flashlights, batteries and battery-operated AM radio, monitoring the storms and using extra care if they must travel.”
